Larry, any thoughts on what is the best method to flyfishing for muskies in MN or WI lakes in the late fall. Topwater, streamers, sinking tips, full sinking lines?

Thanks

Full sinking line. leader about 1/3 as long as the depth you are fishing. Large appearing, but streamlined and easy to cast semi bouyant fly (I use megadiver) Cast the whole line. Super long casts help alot. Let line sink all the way to bottom. Retrieve fly with short steady strips, varying with longer slow jiggling pull. If fly hits bottom you can let it float up. Ocassional short pauses sometimes good, sometimes not. Vary speed and cadence when you're on a known good spot.
Repeat what works. If it quits working try something else. Changing retrieves might often be more effective than changing flies.
good luck,
