How has the world changed for anglers?

Mr. Dahlberg,

I've been watching your 1993-2015 DVD set and it got me wondering about how the world has changed for anglers during that 20+ years.

In your travels, are you seeing a trend toward improvement of environment, or decline, or a mixture of both?

My take has been that a lot of less developed countries are destroying their environment while a few countries like Canada and US seem to be improving their environments. But I don't get around nearly as much as you do.

Happy New Year and best wishes for 2016.

Good question. I'd have to agree with your assessment for the most part. There are groups in most of the central and south American countries that are looking out for the best interests of the environment, but it's really hard to control illegal mining and lumbering in the super remote areas.
Lumbering seems to be a slower attrition than mining, which can literally wreck things overnight.
Have a great 2016
best,
L
