Larry your opinion on the best 4x treble hook size 4 / freshwater, and what knot do you like to tie on walk the dog type lures when targeting peacock bass, or other fish that hit a lure with violence...thanks

The new eagle claw trocar are good, as are the owners. If using mono that's 60lb and up I use a knot similar to a bowline but it's tied with an open loop rather than an overhand loop when you start out. I call it a Knot Again because it can be re-tied.

Larry, have you ever done a video of the "knot Again"? I am a little confused. As a former Boy Scout, I knew the bowline, but it did not have an overhand loop that I recall, but on open loop. So, now..... need help please, pretty please, pretty pretty please.
I think my bucket list has a hole in the bottom!

oops, I got it backwards, sorry. Start with an overhand knot 4 inches or so above tag. put tag thru hook eye. Pass tag thru overhand knot along side line coming out of knot. wrap tag around standing line and stick back thru overhand knot so tag is facing hook.
best I can do without a diagram!
this was shown to me by Jorge Faethe the great costarican snook fisherman many many years ago. it's only about 60%, but since it can be re-tied, leaves a nice open loop, and the tag faces back so it doesn't catch weeds makes it handy sometimes. Plus you can tie it in 400# mono or even heavy stranded wire if you want.

What hooks do you recommend to use on a 5" Zara Spook (Super Spook) for peacock bass and wolf fish
that don't impede lure action? I currently use 1/0 VMC 4X trebles, but considering size 1 Owner ST-66. The 1/0 Owner ST-66 is too heavy, IMO. Thanks!

gamakatsu, owner, eagle claw trokar , are good. I would try the st66 first before deciding they are too heavy. In my experience the very worst in terms of being soft are the VMC hooks. They are like rubber once they've been bent.

Thanks! I'll change out the VMC for Owner ST-66. I'll try 1/0 vs. size 1.
