Hi Larry: Heading to the Alaska Peninsula next week for silvers. ONe of these days was thinking of flying north and trying for sheefish. Was wondering if you have fished for these in Alaska and if so which river.
Thanks doradokiller

Hi DK,
I fished them in the Innoco while on a pike trip. A friend of mine used to fly up to the Kobuk to chase the really big ones.
As I recall, and if rumor was correct, the Kobuk fish were much larger and made some kind of a major run.
From my experience they are in good sized packs and really like to bite; spinners, spoons, flies,. they make a great first run or two, and if you don't pull the hook they then kind of poop out. The smaller ones are excellent eating.
best,
L
