open water season regulations???

Postby dustedone » Wed Apr 23, 2014 12:26 pm

Mr. Dahlberg,

Been some time since I have posted on the forum...Oh, Happy New Year to you and yours!

I was finding it very interesting the special regulations that have been imposed on the anglers that fish Mille Lacs lake in central Minesota. I am sure you have gotten wind of them. Here is a link for all to read: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/fishing/millelacs.html

Generally, most of the people and resort owners are very much up in arms over the night closeure for the whole open water season.

Think you will be casting upon the great water of Mille Lacs this year? With a late ice out compared to last year the muskies will likely be in the shallows closer to the musky opener???

Have a safe open water season. Maybe see you on the water.

Good to hear from you again. Yes, the new Mille Lacs regs are pretty extreme, and in my opinion pretty insane.
and yes, the opener is shaping up to be similar to last season. a friend of mine was out locally last nite carp hunting and shot over 60! I has begun!
best
