I've never been a big "color" guy, feeling that in most cases speed, size, action, etc. being more important. In terms of clear water and surface lures, I'm still trying to find a color the WON'T if the lure is working properly.
I've seen enough "hard to explain" instances where color seemed to be so super key in clear water that it couldn't be denied. Usually those times either dictated a totally black, non-reflective lure or, just the opposite, something really loud like flo chart or orange!
Sorry I couldn't be more definitive! guess it goes back to "letting the fish decide".
