Fluoro, if it's good, seems to have better abrasion resistance than mono. I like that, and I like it's lack of stretch for certain things too. I've had a few situations with live bait and tuna where it made a difference in getting bites.
I use plain old "hard" mono, when I can find it, most of the time when it calls for a nylon shocker.
