Soft Plastic lure internal harness

Postby Booker » Thu Apr 01, 2021 11:01 am

Any ideas or tips for making an internal wire harness for a large soft plastic musky bait that won't rip out? Does anyone have any examples?

My current harnesses work but are hand bent they work great but the problem is that If I make 10 there will be a few in the bunch that swim different. They also take while to make.

I built a cnc wire bender so that my harnesses can all be the same with unnoticeable imperfections. Now I just need to rework the design into something that can be bent with my machine AND be strong.

There are two angles; one add "baffles", a resin body with grooves, or more twists and curves in the wire for more contact with the plastic, or increase the hardness of the plastic portion that's supporting the wire. Or some combination of the above!
Good luck,
Its a common issue for sure!
