Plan is to troll homemade whiggley for wahoo, tuna, marlin. Most ballyhoo are rigged like whiggley with 3/8 to 1oz barrel sinker right behind gill plate. Just wondering if you have ever found this successful, hopefully gopro in two weeks.

sure it works but no need all the special non mechanical properties are not needed. especially what it does on stop and go. for trolling at wahoo speeds you can use stiffer tougher rubber and will possibly need significant ballast in terms of hook, weight in belly as you suggest. I used them in normal mode trolling for billfish and they got bit by everything, but could not operate much over 3 knots. fifty of them on an umbrella dredge attractor would be killer.
Bring lots.
good luck, let me know how you do!
best
