How to go from prototype ?

Postby Caja » Thu Jan 23, 2020 11:01 am

Larry, what is the best way to approach lure manufacturers with a prototype working version and receive royalties or profits. 10 years of tinkering with different designs and finally produced a gamechanger for all wire baits design. Lure Making is just a hobby. I work 60-70 hours a week building high rise buildings. I take scrap materials from each building and make them into lures and give them to superintendent or engineers.

not sure there is a best way. step one is to somehow protect the idea, step two, find an interested partner!
good luck!

Would Make Lure be interested in Partnering? Make Lure was my very first sponsor. Sadly after receiving Make Lure sponsorship I got diagnosed with Cancer and lost 3 months to recover and was not able to promote your products during the River Bassin tournament season as planned. Maybe Larry would be willing to feature this lure design in Make Lure how to video.

Why not shoot you making it using your telephone to shoot the video and send it to the guys at Alumilite? I'd sure be in favor of that!
Hope you are recovering and feeling better!

I sent an email to Don with Alumilite and asked him to forward the email to Larry and Mike.

Larry, was the system for wire baits good or not worth time and energy. The only thing is getting the correct charge. The spinnerblade video was great. How long do you have to leave clear resin in air pot. Looking to buy a pot soon.

Not sure I understand your question regarding system for wire baits. If you mean twisting the fibers between wire, the answer would be a large yes!
Regarding resin, the clear needs to be in the pot for anywhere from 5 to ten minutes, the clear resins vary a little, but none are what i would call slow curing like clear epoxies.

Larry here is video of wire bait transfer system. I will only leave this up for a couple days. Only those who make there own lures can gain the advantage of the system by converting kinetic energy into electrical energy with existing lure designs and adding weight transfer for casting.

Very interesting, but not sure I understand how the kinetic energy is changed into electrical energy! I like the way your mind works! Thanks for the post!

The blades copper or brass spinning or moving within magnetic field of the magnet should create a electrical charge on the lure or the blade that is moving. My father has electrical degree and 30+ years working said it would be hard to test sense lure is required to be underwater moving. There is formula for magnet force and mass of metal moving rpms. I just haven't had time to find it yet.

The weight transfer does help casting accuracy

Ok, now i see where you are headed. My attempt as same involved using magnet oriented sideways with copper on each side of a buzz blade. Like an electric motor.
I think the concept is worth pursuing. If you have a sec, check out how paddlefish find plankton using electro location!!
amazing.
it's possible we are both crazy,.

Paddle fish video pretty cool. Sad people can still fish for them being endangered to tributaries and creeks.

My brothers favorite fishing hole is an underwater fish attracting light. The energy creates an ecosystem https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bOm9tb ... p=drivesdk.

I suspect more electric pulse might be created if you orient the poles of your magnet perpendicular rather than parallel to the shaft. the light works every where!

Perpendicular to blades will be challenging with cylinder magnet. I might have to redesign with disc magnets molded in super plastic or water clear spinner blades. The disc magnets are the size of BB shot

Little tricky wire bending, but got magnet perpendicular to rotation of blade. Copper counter rotating blades. Pure silver blades would be awesome. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1d4nIVq ... p=drivesdk

we need an electrical genius to show us how to measure what ever impulse might be created by this kind of stuff!

An electrical genius would help get pulse dialed in. Good read

I got shocked while twisting the wire when it unsprung for rear blade attachment.
A muskie size double wubble with inline double spinners with two magnets perpendicular.

Hit a snag with original design. The weight transfer system causes wire fatigue and failure with repeated casting. Good news no fish lost. New design 75% single stand wire from blades to head and 25% seven strand wire cable. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j3DX_T ... p=drivesdk

AKA Shockblade, turn up the pulse by adding 1 to 9 supermagnets. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... 6pybdWfGAO

How are the fish responding? Be interesting to find a way to test for electrical field.

Bass and gar seen have been responsive. Have not found a big school of fish. Definitely creates a charge. One Prototype spinnerbait had a lot of supermagnets and the brass blade that was nickel plated became magnetically/charged and attracted to arm. Homemade pure copper blades and aluminum have seen response. Hopefully try silver plated blade in prespawn soon.
