Mold master advice

Postby SeanSieg » Sun Mar 03, 2019 12:08 pm

I am not good at all with trying to make my models out of clay. They look like a failing kindergarten kid’s art project. Most of my design ideas are basically “tweaks” of existing soft plastics.

Some ideas I’ve had...

1 - suspend an existing bait and make a master out of RC-3 and sand off some changes. Looking for suggestions on materials I can glue to RC-3 molds

2 - cut and glue some different baits and use mend-it to “Frankenstein” something together. Then make a mold of that bait.

Are there other options? Thanks in advance.

Have you browsed through the Makelure.com videos? Suggest you do so to get familiar with both the materials and the process if you have not already.
In my experience, Skulpy is best "roughed in", then baked to make it firm enough to sand and shape.
