After some trial and error in my last two prototypes I redesigned my squid and came up with this design this time. Casts like a rocket and has awesome action on a swimbait hook. Threw it through the ringer yesterday with all retrieves and it performs- the ultimate test will be to see what it does in heavy current. I think the bullet shape to it will help to keep it from spinning.

Very excited to use it- my last prototype did very well but I foresee this one being a regular in my rotation especially during the squid bite- the problem for me has always been can I find a squid bait that casts far enough so hopefully the shape and size of this bait will solve those problems.

Hi Larry- just a couple quick clips of the 4.5” squid

In the swim video I show a tentacle modification (normally the bodies have fused tentacles) I etched deep cuts into the master so if the end user desires to articulate the tentacles it’s pretty easy to do.

For jigging I made a small back weight that screws in (https://photos.app.goo.gl/gacdn83pjZb7pBB66) you twist it in and then feed your swimbait hook through the loop and out the back of the lure so the weight can’t be cast off or lost during a bite/fight. Depending on your retrieve you can give it a jetting action. Also in the vid are some simple surface twitch burn action on an unweighted 6/0 swimbait hook.

The second video is just of some finished squid along with some of the colors I’ve been coming up with.

Hey Larry- yes from striped bass to halibut to sand bass! Been fishing this prototype for 2 years. Works great!
