Copic airbrush system questions

Postby aka anglinarcher » Wed Mar 21, 2018 10:32 am

Guys, how much smell is there with the copic system? I know it does not require ventilation, but my wife is super sensitive on smells.

My Airbrush has no appreciable smell, but it does have overspray, something else I often get harrased for. Is there any real dust or anything like that with the copic?

Thanks all,
Steve

I don’t have a very sensitive nose but haven’t noticed much if any odor to it. I used the adapter for the air brush compressor.

It can have some overspray but not as bad as air brush paint.
Relatively safe to use indoors do a little prep work to prevent accidents.

The ink does give off a little smell, but it's very very mild. The propellant is a high grade alcohol which is what I assume the smell is from.
The color schemes you can use are more limited than with paints, and you have to be careful not to get it on too thick or there will be problems with it running when you apply an epoxy clear coat.

Thanks Larry, more pieces to the puzzle. I appreciate the warning on getting it too thick, I have a tendency to apply paint a bit too thick already.
