Coating Waterslide Decals on Spinner Blades

Postby FishermanTom81 » Wed Feb 07, 2018 3:43 pm

I plan on printing out some patterns onto waterslide paper and adding the patterns to spinner blades. If I were to do this what would you suggest I cover the decal with so it will be waterproof?

AlumiUV would be my first choice. https://www.makelure.com/store/p/1027-Alumi-UV.aspx
I have also had great results using Clear Cast Bar coating. https://www.alumilite.com/store/p/1073- ... ating.aspx
And, in a pinch, I have used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails clear fingernail polish as a top coat.

As you can see, lots of options. I think that any of them will be good for you, but the UV is by far my favorite. I can apply it thin to keep the blade weight down. I can get it cured in a few minutes.
I think my bucket list has a hole in the bottom!

I agree with AA that the AlumUv is the easiest and get good resultsL. Although nothing is perfect for that purpose!
