Questions about Making Your Own Lures

Through wire

Postby Tarponchaser305 » Tue Oct 24, 2017 2:54 pm

I am new to this and planning on making some lures for Tarpon. My question is what type of wire would you use for through construction? I have heard of guys using brass/copper. Not sure this will hold up in salt and large fish. Any help would be greatly appreciated

The brass wire found on the site is what I use and have never had any issues at all. reason for brass is that it allows for minute tweaks up, down or left/right on the nose connection to tune your lure. Once you've got it totally dialed it you can use stainless wire if you prefer.
