Have a season of striper fishing under my belt here on cape cod.
Designing a squid. decided to keep the tentacles tight and inline so they don't fan too bad on the cast and slow the bait down shortening the cast.

decided to design something with a bulky body, will be an easy pour, and has an uncanny swimming squid look and feel. for use with a 10/0-12/0 Swimbait hook with like 3/4oz of weight.Want to test it unweighted too. squid is a bulky 7". doing my best to taper and form the body so it swims well unweighted too.

here's what i came up with. still have several hours of sanding and fine work ahead of me before molding.

next up i have a 10" eel , sluggo type bait. trying to keep it slim, bulky in the head for rigging, and a decent taper and shape so i can work it weightless or rigged with a 10/0 weighted swimbait hook.

Hey Rhett!
I think they both look absolutely great, plus are two very offerings that exhibit really different cues. Both excellent tools. Really great work! Enjoy those stripers! Great fish!

Thanks Larry- last season we got on a micro squid bite and had to come up with some creative alumifoam solutions to do well in Woods Hole- it paid off with several good fish on the prototypes. Would love to show you sometime. They'd really excel in situations where having a floating squid would benefit- I.E. strong current and rips- holds up to big gator blues up to 10#+ too. Would love your design input but can't give out all of my secrets to the board
