Can someone share a successful process for prepping Alumifoam for paint? Cleaning? Smoothing out surface?

Thanks.

Alumifoam is a little tricky compared to the Non-foam, but not hard. I sand it a little with emery boards, then use wood filler to fill in any open cells. Once I have sanded that to my standards, I spray the lure with a little plastic spray paint. This forms a great base for later painting.

Most of the time I have found I don't need to sand at all if my mold is good. Alumifoam is a self skinning material so only the smallest imperfections should be left to fill.

Hope this helps until Larry or Mike get on the forum.
