appreciate the kind words, Larry.

I'll be pouring up some jet black, pearl, and more blue backs today.

Any other cape cod colors you can recommend? I'm stock piling this winter. I have the privilege to move out there in a few months!

when the stripers get on squids you might want some light orange colors like the first whiggleys. I left one with a guide out there who used it to tease in a flyrod world record a few years back during a time when he said he could not get them to look at anything else. Congrats on the move. it should be a paradise for you fishingwise! Look up Andrew cummings. he's a great guy who used to guide out there, but I believe now he's got an oyster ranch!
best

At various times of the year you will see: mackerel, bunker (menhaden), herring, and squid as the main forage. At least those are the larger baits that you might imitate with your soft plastics. Other smaller baits will also make an appearance. The ones you showed in your first post look great! No doubt they'll all get eaten, if the bluefish don't tear them up first

Oh I know! The blues can be brutal!

In the past I made some 3.25" flukes that I would throw on a scrounger head for Albies. They loved them when they were on the small silversides.
