epoxy clearcoat problem

Postby joegn » Wed Apr 29, 2015 6:10 pm

I am having a problem with the clear coat on my lures. The finish is not smooth, it's kind of like an orange peel. I am using Devcon 2-Ton epoxy and I am casting with RC3 and am using Createx and/or Com Art paints. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Sometimes it works just fine. Any help would be much appreciated.

The epoxy you are using is actually not intended for clear coat, it's a glue. I know lots of people who use it, but you will have better results with a product designed for coating. flex coat, envirotex, amazing clear cast are a few I could suggest. I've been using UV cure the past year or so and am very pleased with it.
