Just wanted to share a new video of a process that enables users to make their own production grade, soft plastic tools that are intended to be injected with Alumisol. This eliminates the need for someone who has carved, sculpted, or created by some other means their own soft plastic design to be able to make production molds without having to go through the time and expense of having engineering drawings created as well as finding a machine shop that is able to cut aluminum molds for a design.

I see an order coming up soon. Time to convert some of my quick set molds over. Now, about that injector?????

is this a kind of plastic material or is this like reel alluminium?
would like to know more about this stuff, is it hard???

is this simular as hard as real alluminium???

I see it's not possible to send the release spray to europe? is it possible to do it with silicone oil instead? or would I destroy the mold?

Yes ... it is approximately 40-50% urethane resin and 50-60% actual atomized aluminum powder. Benefit of aluminum combined with the ease of use of a high temp Alumilite casting resin.

I recently made some 8.5 inch long flukes. Video coming later this week. I will try to post a photo on makelure.com's gallery. Yes, would work fine for swimbaits.

Any urethane mold release would work ... like silicone sprays. Silicone may leave some witness marks though as it is difficult to apply a very thin even layer but yes it will work fine.

IF you are talking about making hard baits in this process, you need to make absolutely sure there are no undercuts as your part will become mechanically locked in the mold.

Size 9cm, 11cm and 13cm ... so let's say from 3,5 inch up tot 5,1 inch...

And also something like this one... 4 inch size and maybe 3 inch size

how many cavities would be the best choice to make a good injection mold for swimbaits?

So if this was to be poured and not injected, how would you change the layout.

would the baits be vertical vs horizontal
would the sprue be bigger so the plastisol would stay molten longer to allow for flow time
more venting?
