Mold Calculations

I am having a hard time figuring out how much high strength 3 rubber and catalyst to use. I am going to make 4 molds at the same time. All the molds combine hold 40 fluid oz of water. Am I correct that 40 fluid oz equals 72.187 cubic inches, which means I need 3.34lbs of rtv? How much catalyst should I use?

Thanks in advance.
Matt

I got 3.35 pounds. LOL I guess we rounded up different.

If you have an old RTV3 mod you are tossing, you can cut it up in fine pieces and put it in spots in the mod cavity that don't contact the master. The old will bond perfectly to the new and will give you a flawless mold (assuming the cut up mold is clean and does not have any oils or mold release on it).

The ratio is the same as before, 10:1 by weight, so you would use .35 pounds or 5.6 OZ of catalyst. The catalyst comes with the RTV 3.

I hope this helps, but you are right on track.
