I've been sidelined for the past few days with the wife, 2 kids and I all having the Flu so haven't gone out to try my newest thinned-down whiggley yet. While sitting here, I was looking at my Sculpey master and wondering if anyone has tried putting a small notch/channel from the brass ring back towards the hooks to create a place for the line to sit. Maybe about an inch long, depending on the bait size and 1/16th thick/deep or less. When I was taking some test casts with my first few prototypes, I noticed when the treble hook was not far enough up to touch the brass ring, even with the one barb totally embedded in the bait, the hook shank would shift either left or right of center sometimes causing the bait to run a little funky. Was thinking a small line channel might help with that. Just an idea. Let me know what you think.

Thanks
