Adding pigment to existing soft plastics

Postby Ditkarulz34 » Wed Jun 04, 2014 7:22 am

I am looking to add glow pigments to existing soft plastics for night fishing. Hopefully there is an easier way than having to recast them. Would anyone have any thoughts about doing some thing like this?

The way I would do this is to heat up the soft plastic (torch or heat gun) until the surface glosses up, then sprinkle Alumilite's Phosphorescent Powder over the bait. Basically remelting just the surface of the lure, then laying actual glow in the dark powder onto that molten surface where it will attach ... then allow it to cool.

Thanks! That makes sense, I figured it would be something easy. Any tips on a good way to get an even coat? Do you think a flour sifter could work?
