Not a lure but a molding/casting question

Postby joel » Tue Jan 14, 2014 11:33 am

Larry,
Your lures have inspired me to try making a mold/cast. However, not of a lure, but of a cannon projectile for display. I've got expended shells and I'd like to top them with a plastic bullet to complete them for gifts. I've got a dummy round to start with, so how do I go about making a mold of it and then a blank to make the castings?

wow, that's an easy one! just go to makelure.com and follow the instructions for a simple mold. If it's only the projectile I'd suggest using putty for the mold and leaving to top open.
good luck!

mold putty for sure is the way to go.

The putty is definitely the choice if you are as impatient as the rest of us because it cures in 10 minutes and you can start casting.

This is OP. Can't seem to log in now as Joel. Anyhow, thanks. We'll be ordering the stuff under USS ANCHORAGE.
