Cape Cod Canal Eels

Postby RhettWheeler » Sun Dec 22, 2013 6:26 pm

My brother smacks the stripers in late july all through august using live eels in the cape cod canal. Eels can be a little expensive so we're going to try these bad boys out for them.

When hooked weedless with a 5/- hook they have a perfect snaking action with subtle rod twitches.

When used with a darter head molded into the plastic they dig nose first into the bottom beautifully.

How big? With a 2-5 oz lead head you can keep that on the bottom where the big girls hang out. I have used larger slugos on a jighead there for stripers. Yours should do the trick too.

it's 10.5" pretty decently thick at the head.
