Mold issues

Postby cuzzinfish » Fri Jul 19, 2013 9:03 pm

Hi,

I was using High Strength to make my own version of the famous whiggley. It has been about 29 hrs since pouring and part of the mold, the 1/3 or so around the tail, is soft enough that it brings to mind a water balloon filled with cake batter. I've relocated the mold to the main floor of the house where it is warmer than the basement. Should I just give it more time or is it likely to have been a waste of time and a very expensive mold?
Thanks
Robert

I would simply give it more time before giving up on it. We've had a couple people recently undercatalyze the system unintentionally. One was a scale that got out of calibration and ended up causing a pretty good percentage off ratio.

Heat and humidity in combination will help it cure the fastest but it might take a few days.
