Mike expects to bring it out within a month. Check the Alumilite site for the new product.

Still working on it. Last batch was just a touch too hard and didn't have the impact resistance that we wanted. We're dialing it in!

Cool, can't wait to try it. If you need a tester, let me know! I hit plenty of rocks!
I've tried just about all the popular alternatives.

I hope it does too. I have about 40 lures made up waiting to try this product on.
Solarez is great for certain things, but it is still quite difficult to achieve a so-so finish.
I've used a headlight restorer too by cure-uv, but I've had mixed results applying it over createx. My first lure came out great, and still looks great. I've had cracking issues ever since. It is also difficult to brush on, as it instantly removes the paint.

I still love solarez as a filler on my ballast weight hole though!

Latest formulation I think is too thin. Cured ok with a good finish but think we need thicken it.

Sorry for the delay but want to make sure its right.

... just like making gravy!

Thanks for the update Mike. Is there a recommendation on bulbs that will work?
I figure that I may as well gather supplies and build my light box properly, for once. All my other drying stands/turners/light boxes always get thrown together haphazardly with my anticipation to try new products.

Hi guys
I've been using the stuff extensively and I'm really liking it. Really great for a quick rod repair too.
Thicker coats set up more quickly, which I like, but every now I get sloppy and get a "bump". But it's not a problem because it can be quickly sanded down and recoated for a perfect finish.
Like Mike said, "coming soon"!

Finding a light with the highest wattage with the exact right wave length is the key. Until we dial the resin in, we won't exactly know but right now it is in the 365 nm wavelength. Don't look too hard because I am also working on an inexpensive and effective light source. I know you know what's next ... "coming soon!"

Have you had any issues with paint wrinkling or other issues with it adhering?

No, not yet. But have only tested a handful of different types of painted baits. Time and testing will tell but I'm not anticipating any issues with interfering with paint and other finishes.

I've used the new uv we're testing over acrylic paint, alumidust, lead, and even used it on masters to fill pores in the surface because it's so fast. For curing I bought four sixty watt black light tubes that are four feet long, installed them in cheap double bulb shop light fixtures and mounted them horizontally and facing each other about six inches apart. Depending on the thickness of the coat it takes ten minutes or so to set up.
happy 4th of july weekend to all!

How does the UV coat effect lure color and visibility to fish underwater? Does the UV coating get sensitized by the sun's UV rays and emit light in visible wavelengths?

no visible effect at all, it is interesting to see which colors literally explode with brilliance under the uv lights when the epoxy is being cured!

I'm curious. Does this new uv coating penetrate into the paint, similar to Dick Nites coating, or does lay more like an epoxy? I see where you brush this on in videos (with larger lures), have you tried dipping with any success?

I've both dipped and brushed the UV cured epoxy. It's simply an epoxy that cures with UV light rather than a catalyst, so it is a coating just like any other traditional epoxy.

Still in R&D. Trying to increase the adhesion properties to an obvious wide range of substrates ... resin, wood, acrylic, painted wood, painted resin, foil, and the list goes on. Trying to obtain the best adhesion as possible. Apologize for the slow process but need to make sure it is as good as can be and now waiting for some new raw materials. The old hurry up and wait game.

Sorry don't have better news yet!
