Alumisol and and alumidust

Postby rick_rudder » Sat Mar 16, 2013 10:59 am

Guys,

I've noticed a change in the tint of color to straight alumisol when I put it in the microwave sometimes, is it possible to burn it therefore changing the color? I would Iike my mr whiggly tail to be black, I found some black food coloring but it comes out horrible almost a green instead of black, I just bought the 33 color kit of alumidust, is there a mixture of colors to get something of a black?

the change in tint is due to it almost burning.

I'd suggest getting a 1 oz Black dye. This will color close to a gallon of Alumisol jet black. Its by far the least expensive and truest black color you can achieve. Just be sure to play with it as it does not take much. Literally a drop per pint (16 fl oz) of Alumisol should do it. Yes you can use the Alumidust which will give you some pearl aspect to it but is much more expensive to color the same amount of of Alumisol.
