What does it mean to

I just ordered up some rubber to make some molds . I have never used it before and it mentions "de-gas" if possible . What exactly does this mean .

It refers to subjecting the rubber to negative pressure in order to drive out air bubbles. It's not totally required, but does help reduce any bubbles that might form.
