Questions about Making Your Own Lures

Clear coat?

Postby King Eider » Sun Jul 15, 2012 3:10 pm

Probably been asked before but since I am new here thought I'd ask.

What works for everyone as a clear final coat on crank baits.

Been making lures left and right and having a blast with my son. Painting every color combination under the sun but the final coat has not met with the results I want.

Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast
Devcon 2-Ton Epoxy
EnviroTec Lite

These are the ones I have used before, and they work well. All will yellow after time, but you really can't tell it on most colors.

With these products do I need to rotate the lures as they dry like on a rotisserie?
