Questions about Making Your Own Lures

clear lures with alumilite clear

Postby lilpdriverrat » Wed Jun 20, 2012 2:13 pm

Is is possible to make clear, floating lures or slow sinking lures with the alumilite clear and microballoons or would the microballoons cause the resin to become cloudy? Just wondering before I order ( I know it is currently out of stock)
Thanks!

the balloons would make the clear cloudy!

Thats what I thought. So how fast does the clear sink? Like a rock as stated in your DVD?

As I recall, the specific gravity is just about 1.2 or so. Meaning it won't sink like lead, but will sink pretty quickly, especially when hooks etc. are added.
You might consider making a foam insert along the back, then leave the rest clear.
best of luck!
