How long of a working time do you have with sculpey before you need to bake it, or before it gets hard? I want to make a pretty intricate design for a soft plastic jerk bait but I want to take my time and not rush it.

It will stay ok for days if in between sessions with it you wrap it in cellophane and keep it from drying out.

Straight out of the package you need to condition it by kneading it. It will then soften and as it sits over time it will stiffen back up if not baked. Simply kneading it again will condition it but will get "drier" over time if left out as Larry mentioned. You are able to rework it for day upon days and even into a week or two but will continually get "drier" and more difficult to work with after a couple weeks.
