plaster cast

i am new to custom pours so any help would be great. i am using plaster of paris for my casts. it works great, but my lures come out dull. any tricks to make them shine?

Most folks coat the inside of their molds to get a better finish. The popular choice seems to be watered down carpenter's glue or thinned epoxy. It will soak into the plaster a bit and should give you a better finish and demold.
