I know this has not been addressed in any of the dvd's I have, but when you remelt plastic I just want to be safe. So far I am keeping them separate.

That is a really good question, one I had not considered before.

Tungsten is found in light bulbs, so it conducts electricity. Because it conducts electricity, it is possible that you could get some sparking.

Still, microwave ovens are not dangerous to us when you microwave metal in them, but it can damage the Magnatron in the microwave (makes the radar waves) if you do too much of it.

Here are my thoughts on it ................... Don't do it in your wifes good microwave, but I will be willing to do it in my second hand store microwave. I will remove most of the tungsten first if I can.
I think my bucket list has a hole in the bottom!

There are tiny pieces of metal even in some cheap paper towels, I had one catch on fire in a micro wave once. What I would be worried about was starting on fire.

Again, I will probably do it, but I would suggest watching it very close.

I've combined liquid Alumisol with tungsten and poured pieces. Once the left over cooled, I remelt it in the microwave without issues however the tungsten is completely part of the Alumisol and the tungsten is not on its own. It is part of the Alumisol and completely encased. I have never had any sparks or issues however I would not recommend doing this if the tungsten is at all exposed.
