Mr. Wiggley Question

Postby mxz583 » Wed Feb 01, 2012 5:49 pm

Larry,

I was wondering what type of material you used to make the Advance Mr. Wiggley MOLD. It doesn't appear to be rubber. Is it some type of an apoxy?

Thanks,

Tony

Quickset. It's stiffer than high strength.

That is our Plat 55. Plat 55 is a platinum base silicone that is thicker than the QuickSet and needs to be vacuumed to remove the air that you mix in. The QuickSet is much easier to use but the other benefit of the Plat 55 is that it has a little better tear strength and can be heat cured in a short period of time. This allows us to make a mold very quickly when we are in a hurry which is often. It also has a high durometer (stiff) which helps the two halves of the molds locate very well and reduce seam lines similar to the QuickSet.
