Questions about Making Your Own Lures

Hard body swim bait

Postby Skinny river » Tue Jan 31, 2012 9:15 pm

I am thinking about making my own hard body swim baits. I would like it to be a 3 joint bait. What do I need to use for the joint connections. I want something very strong, I will try 6"-7" size first.

You can make them just like the factory does, with pins metal hinges. Or, you can imbed a couple of small chains.

You can probably get them from Jannsnetcraft.com or lureparts.com or you can just make one yourself with round nose pliers, then use its shape to put some nails in a board as a bending template so that you can duplicate it; that way you get exactly what you want. Hope this helps.
