Length vs. action on Mr. Wiggley

Larry, I am going to try to make some Mr. Wiggleys. However, most of the ones you use seem pretty long. I am going to be primarily fishing for Wipers. Can you shed any light on length, width and where possibly the lure becomes too short to get the action you want out of the lure? I would just play around with it, but the mold material is so expensive I want to try to get it right the first time. I was thinking about making a 6-8 incher.

Also, did you ever check out any of the reusable mold material?

As always, thanks for your insight and assistance. Loved the tennessee striper show. Thanks, Lee.

Hi L
The first one I made was about 6" long, appx 1 1/8" deep and 3/8" wide and it worked fine. I'm kind of an extemporaneous, instinct driven tinkerer so I'm not much on detailed measurements. A primary concern is getting the right softness. For that I use a ratio of 20% softener to Alumisol.
Having an aerodynamic head and getting the connection point dead center is also important.
Good Luck!
