Questions about Making Your Own Lures

Dye Colors

Postby Cwalter » Mon Dec 26, 2011 6:33 pm

Hello all new to the forum and just started making y own lures for Saltwater here in Fl and my question is on the Dye colors. Does Alumilite offer any other colors than whats on their site? Was curious about a glow in the dark dye and possibly a chartreuse. Thanks in advance for any help.

I would love chartreuse as well. I know you can make it from yellow and green, but not sure of the amount. I did it with sharpies on some lures.

I would like to find the correct amount of each as well. Do you use regular colors or like the florescent versions of green and yellow? I would also like a dye that would glow at night those work well here in Florida.

we've got a glow in the dark powder that can be mixed with soft plastic or coated on hard that glows like a light bulb!
check it out on makelure.com.

That is perfect Larry. Where at on the site? Under powders it only shows the metallic colors?

The glow in the dark powders are something we have been playing with for awhile. They are very expensive and we're trying to find the abosolute best one to use before offering it. Will hopefully be posting them on the site very soon and will let you know on the forum when it will will be available.

Thanks for the heads up Mike. That powder will make alot of difference here in Florida for sure I can't wait. Do you guys have any plans to expand the dye colors? I would really like a Chartreuse and a few of the saltwater colors if possible. By the way your products are awesome.

Chartuese and flourescent Orange would be good. Can you add Spike-it" dye to the alumisol?

I would try it but I don't have any. Might be a good solution.
