Hi Larry

I just arrived in Barranquilla about a month ago. can you put me in touch with local fishermen who can show me the ropes/places, etc. Are there any fishing shops nearby in Cartagena or Santa Marta.

I left all my fishing gear in South Africa (where I am from) and now desperately need to purchase some fishing tackle. Any recommendations?

You will enjoy the fishing for sure! The only shop I know of is in Medellin and it's owned by Alejandro Linares. If you have trouble locating it let me know.

Hello, I know a good fisherman in barranquilla, his name is carlos andres patiño milanes. Look him up in facebook and he will show you around. Or, if you give me your email adress or phone number I can put you in touch with carlos andres.
If you want to buy tackle you can contact alejandro linares or look up in facebook a guy named Daniel Mejia Gonzales or look for CAJA DE PESCA in facebook also (is the shop owned by daniel mejia). They can send the tackle any were here in colombia.
In barranquilla there is a place to fish for baby tarpon and for giant tarpon as well. Carlos andres should show you around.
