I'm going on a family vacation to roatan at the end of july, and would like to do some fishing while i'm there. i was wondering if anyone has fished there before and could point me in the right direction for a guide and what tackle to bring.
Thanks,
Kyle

Trapperzig,
How did you do in Roatan? I fished with Loren Monterosso of Early Bird about 3 weeks ago. I didn't do very well. No mahi or marlin. Only a few small black fin and barracuda. Had a pretty big wahoo, maybe 30-40 lbs, chomp my barracuda in half right before my eyes. I think the locals fish that north coast really hard for grouper and snapper. Goliath grouper have been extinct from that area for many, many years. There is a long history of spear fishing and hand lines there.
