the old cittica is just as good when all the breaks are off!!!! why in the world pay eighty dollars more when oiling the reel is all you need to do to turn the cittica into a curado :)

The spool is still lighter in the Curado E when compared to the Citica E.

i see your point, but the curado still beats the citica on drag pressure and power. i recently bought a curado and am happy i didnt cheap out for the citica. i may eventually buy a citica as well, but for more demanding fishing the curado will get center stage.

I'm not saying the Citica is a bad reel in any way. I was just pointing out that no matter what the lighter spool will outperform the heavier spool. It is just simple physics. Lower weight = less force required to get the spool moving. This means that you can use the Curado to cast lighter lures with less effort. You also get some extra features on the Curado like more bearings, bigger handle paddles, Titanium line guide insert (super slick and durable with braided lines) and an aluminum drag star. This makes for a nicer and more refined reel.
