Question about divers in hot weather

Postby Questor » Tue Jan 04, 2011 10:13 am

Larry:

I've got that DVD of Hunt For Big Fish episodes that you published a few years back, and you mention in one of the Amazon episodes that you were having trouble with floatant for the deer hair version of the Dahlberg Diver. I'll be fishing in hot, humid weather more, and still need my divers. Can you recommend a good approach for hot weather use for divers? Temps are not likely above 95F air, mid 80s for water. Humidity 90-100% some days.

Thanks!

Hey Q
If you have a pblm just duplicate the shape with cut and folded foam. Where I ran into trouble is 110 degree scorching sun totally melting the floatant off them.
If you have a few "on the bench or on deck, plus a good dessicant powder and "waxier" floatant you should be ok with deer hair almost anytime in the USA!
best,
