Leader

LD
I fish with 30 lb. power pro braid using lead heads with shad bodies from about a 1/2 oz all the way up to 3 oz.(the 3 oz. is for deep jigging) I usually tie on direct but would like to start using fluorocarbon leaders. I feel I am losing strikes to line shy fish especially when deep jigging. What knots would you recommend and how long of a leader? I mostly fish with 7 ft.spinning rods from a boat.

I tie a bimini in the braid, then attach it to my leader with a double uni-knot.

you may want to try an albright knot. I use it for braid to fluro when jigging tuna. Simple to tie and strong. It held fish 200lb-600lb this spring during an epic bluefin tuna bite off North Carolina. Good Luck
