Circle hooks for tarpon

I just returned from a tarpon fishing trip to Belize. In two days, I had hits, and misses from 6 tarpon on flies tied on conventional J style hooks. When we got sick of missing hook ups, we switched to a fly on a circle hook and it worked like a charm on the first fish that hit. I never got a chance to try the circle hook again. Was this just luck, or do you think I oughtta load up on circle hooks for my next trip? And if so, what type? Later, Loopkey

Hi LK,
I'd load up on Owner SSw's "J" hooks, and make sure you wait for the fish to turn before you tighen up!
