Questions about Saltwater Fishing

Sunglasses

Postby sakamotok » Sat Feb 20, 2010 12:02 am

Hi Larry,
Great episodes to start the new season!
I recently started flats fishing in Florida and would eventually like to do some Bonefishing in the Bahamas. I have been using a pair of basic brown polarized sunglasses. I'd like to upgrade to some nicer prescription sunglasses (Costas), but what color lenses would you recommend? There sure are enough colors choices and styles (green mirror, copper, etc).
Any help would be appreciated,
Ken

If you get the Costas try to match the color of the lense to the color of the water you will be fishing most often. I have some Maui Jims and they have been great at a lesser price.

Make sure you buy sun glass's strap, and that you won't leave your glasss on the top of your car!

I like amber colors when fishing shallow water where I might be able to see the bottom, blues, greys etc. for the deep blue.
I've got a deal on my hat with little retracter on each side that my sunglass bows fit it. If my glasses fall off my nose while I'm bending over to land a fish, the hat catches them. If my hat blows off while motoring the glasses keep it from flying into the drink! Haven't lost a hat or glasses for almost 4 years!
You can't go wrong with Costas.
