I just purchased a Curado 300DSV and plan to load it with 30# braided line. Will I need to put a few layers of mono on the reel first or can the braided line be attached directly to the spool>

HI GG,
If you use a good knot (3 turn uni) and make sure the first few wraps around the spool are tight you shouldn't need mono.
