stanless steel

Postby TUNA MAN » Fri Aug 28, 2009 10:00 am

I,m trying to find stainless steel in 5/32 or 3mm round to make my own spreeder bars. Imade bars out of steel for this season and did very well but the bars rusted quickly any help would be great.

thanks TUNA MAN

Hi Tuna Man
Not sure where to get the stainless you're looking for but I would suggest using the same deal as you made in the first place. If your current one isn't totally shot clean it up with abrasive, but try adding the zinc strips Owner is marketing for use with regular steel hooks in salt. It works like a sacrificial anode on your outboard and IMO it's an absolutely brilliant idea.

HELO TUNAMAN,
YOU CAN FIND S/S BARS AT WELDING SUPPLY SHOPS, I ALSO BOUGHT THEM UNRIGGED TRU SEASTRIKER.COM,
I THINK I PAID 7 BUCKS FOR THEM,THEY COME WITH SLEEVE SWIVELS ALREADY ON THEM.
I HOPE THIS HELPS
