Fly line to leader

Hey Larry i was wondering how you connected your fly line to your leader? Thanks for your time.

HI TRK
I use a nail knot. It's quick, simple and strong. Just be sure to tighten both ends of the knot really well, and test it to make sure it doesn't slide off due to the flyline coating coming free from the core.
If you want you can coat it with pliobond or something similar, but I usually don't bother.

Oh and what's the best backing to use since all i'm gonna be fishing for is big reds? Thanks a lot Larry.

Use either dacron or powerpro. I'd use at least 50# if you go with powerpro.
