halibut bay and ocean

i have trolled for halibut in the south sf bay for 2 years now with improving success. i am also interested in finding halibut offshore, can anyone tell me if there are good halibut grounds outside of halfmoon bay or south of there. if so i would assume that its drifting live bait or jigging.

I will not be of any help with your question but would I have been fishing out of Alameda for about a year and learning the methods and area after recently moving from Maine compliments of the Coast Guard. Have been trying to talk with local anglers online for both hunting and fishing but it seems as though people are tight liped or just don't want to particapate. I am always willing to talk fishing.
