I am looking to purchase the Shimano Tekota and put it on a Compre Musky rod as I have three of them for Fluke, Striper and wreck fishing. I am looking at this reel for jigging Stripers and what I read is it is more designed for trolling and is not designed for casting; however I will not be casting that often. Is this reel OK for jigging buck tales and metals or should I be looking at something else. PS I like this reel because t is beefy and has a level wind.

The reel will be fine for non trolling applications.
